Google is releasing a new update for the Chrome browser that includes an Energy Saver mode and a Memory Saver mode. We have brought to you the details about the new update, including how to install the update on your Chrome browser. It is important to note that the new update is available for Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS users.
Energy Saver mode

Google is adding an Energy Saver mode to the Chrome web browser. It will activate when your laptop battery level reaches 20%. Once this most is active, the browser will limit background activity and visual effects for websites to prolong battery life.
You will see a leaf icon on the top right corner of your browser once this feature reaches the Chrome browser on your device. You can activate the feature by clicking on the leaf.

Memory Saver mode

Google is also working on a Memory Saver mode. It will prove beneficial for users that have multiple tabs open at the same time. As the name suggests, this mode will save memory by prioritizing the tabs that the users are actually using. It will free up the memory used by the tabs that are not in use. However, users can reload them in the same state when needed.
Google claims that the new feature will save up to 30% of memory for a faster browsing experience. When it is in use, you will see a new icon on the top right corner of Chrome. it will indicate how much memory you have freed up.
How to install the update?
Google will soon roll out the new update. If you want to update your Chrome to the latest version, please follow the below steps:
- Open the Chrome browser.
- Click on the three dots in the top right corner
- Navigate to Help-> About Google Chrome
- Tap on Update Google Chrome
- Relaunch Chrome, once updated
Note: If your Chrome is already updated you won’t find the Update Google Chrome button.
