In a recent development, Google has added a new ability to Chrome and it is related to the incognito mode of the browser. It is important to note that the feature was already available for a while but using it was altogether a different case. What Google has done is, it has made it easily accessible to the general public. Moreover, this time the feature is rolled out to a wider audience and now all of us can easily lock our Chrome Incognito session. For some, this feature might be nothing but for others, it could be as vital as an internet connection in the modern world.

Here is how you can check if the new Chrome Incognito feature is available on your device
9to5Google was among the first platforms to spot the update. In fact, the folks there received the feature on their devices. However, we are yet to receive the update on our devices, which means it is a gradual rollout. In other words, it will take time to reach everyone out there. If you want to check if you have received the feature, follow the below steps:
- Head to the Chrome Settings tab.
- Go to the Privacy and Security section.
- Toggle on the Lock Incognito Tab When You Close Chrome option.
You can also force the option by hitting the following URL: chrome://flags/#incognito-reauthentication-for-android. You just need to paste this URL in your address bar to get the feature running.
Once you get this feature working, your need to provide biometric authentication to access the Incognito tab if a session has been interrupted. If you don’t have Google Chrome on your smartphone, we recommend you download it. Android users can easily download it from Google Play Store whereas Apple users can download it from the App Store.
