Firefox Lockwise was first released for Android in 2019 by Mozilla. It made it simple to transfer your stored account information to any app on your phone without having to use your browser as a password manager. There is no longer need for Lockwise, thanks to a recent upgrade that turned Firefox into an autofill service. And the company will shut down it in the next month.

The support of Lockwise will stop on December 13th, 2021, according to a blog post from Mozilla, giving customers just a few weeks to upgrade or install Firefox on their phones. Because this is the last version they have released on the Play Store. The company will not fix any problems or missing features. While users who already have the app will continue to be able to use it. They will remove the app from the Google Play Store.

October latest update for autofill support for Android:

There’s no need to be concerned if you’ve been using Lockwise to log into your library of applications. Instead, ensure that your phone is running Firefox 93 or above. Mozilla’s browser was updated in October to provide complete autofill support for Android, however, it still lacks Android 11’s useful keyboard UI. You’ll have to settle for the old-fashioned drop-down technique, which does utilize biometrics for verification.

If you want to test it out before it’s gone, Lockwise will be available on the Play Store for the next two and a half weeks or so. For the rest of you, make sure you’re using the most recent version of Firefox by clicking the link below or downloading the newest APK from APK Mirror.
