Telegram is delivering Wear OS users a final message with the newest Telegram update. This update removes the program from the Google Play Store for Wear OS devices. Telegram is one of the finest messaging applications on Android, and the most recent version included a slew of new features for users to enjoy, but it’s taking away the ability to do pretty much anything from the comfort of your wrist and it is delivering Wear OS users a goodbye message.
The end of an era may signal the start of a new frontier.
It’s unclear whether this is a hint of something bigger to come or the end of an era, but 9to5Google confirmed the switch with Telegram support, which gave the following statement:
“Starting with Telegram V8.0, the Wear OS app will not be available to download anymore. Note that if you still have Telegram installed on your Wear OS device, it may stop working soon.”
What you should know:
- Telegram v8.0 comes with a number of new features, including trending stickers, improved live streaming capabilities, Flexible Forwarding, and more.
- The Wear OS app is not there the Play Store as a result of this upgrade.
- Even if you leave the Telegram Wear OS software installed, it will cease operating. And you will not be able to reinstall it.
While it’s very unlikely, Telegram may withdraw the app while the Wear OS community waits for the Wear OS 3 upgrade, and then release a replacement app once the new OS is out.
Neither the Wear OS 2-powered Galaxy Watch 4 nor the Wear OS 3-powered Galaxy Watch 4 can currently download the existing Telegram app.
If you use Telegram on your smartphone on a daily basis, Telegram v8.0 adds a slew of new capabilities. This features a new live-streaming feature that can now accommodate an infinite number of viewers. Messages may now be previewed and modified before being forwarded, allowing you to transmit select parts of the message or the whole message. You’ll also discover a variety of fresh and popular stickers to spice up your conversations.
