Twitter “Official” Label  to Discern Verified Accounts From Blue Subscribers

Twitter Added New Content Warning On Individual Tweets Feature

Twitter has made it clear that only “government accounts, commercial companies, business partners, significant media outlets, publishers, and some public figures” will be given the “Official” label. Contrary to these accounts, Blue subscribers are exempt from ID verification.

The New York Times reports that Elon’s Twitter would probably officially launch the $8 monthly Blue subscription on Wednesday. It was purportedly postponed because of the US midterm elections. The program now charges $8 per month instead of $4.99. It is the second price increase in the past three months.

The redesigned premium service appeared to have opened momentarily over the weekend. As the social media business stated in an update for Apple iOS devices on Saturday that anyone who “signs up now” to its premium “Twitter Blue” service will receive a blue tick. Other improvements to the premium service included promises of halving the number of advertisements, enabling the posting of lengthier films, and giving platform-posted material priority.

Twitter will roll out the Blue tick subscription after the US midterm elections

The New York Times reported the next day, however, that the business has postponed implementing the new verification procedure. The company will roll out the feature after the US midterm elections. Since there were concerns that false “verified” accounts would surface posing as news organizations or politicians.

The more expensive Blue subscription assures users access to a few features. Features include the blue tick, tweet editing, and the ability to publish lengthier videos and audio recordings. But the once-free and much-desired blue checkmark will soon no longer serve as a seal of authenticity for accounts sporting this symbol.

It should clear up the present misunderstanding regarding Twitter’s new blue checkmark and verification status. However, some people might still be perplexed because the old blue “Verified” badge was a difficult-to-access indicator. Anyone will soon be able to purchase it to obtain it.
