Zoom is gearing up to expand its support for automatic live transcriptions with the addition of live translation. The company is planning to convert its whiteboard feature into an app, among other things; Zoom announced at its Zoomtopia conference on Monday.
Zoom first announced that automatic live transcription in English will arrive in free Zoom accounts in February 2021. And now, the company has revealed its plans to offer real-time transcription by the end of the next year. Plus, the company will also offer translations services for paid accounts. In fact, it has plans to support real-time translation across as many as 12 languages by the end of the next year. However, the company is yet to reveal what languages will it actually offer. Zoom has also said that this has been made possible by the German translation company Kites.

Other changes to Zoom Whiteboard
Besides the things mentioned above, there is one other significant change coming to Zoom. As of now, you can create and share whiteboards during meetings to doodle together. After the expansion, the whiteboard will be made available outside Zoom meetings, in Zoom apps, and on the web. What’s more, the basic drawing tool appears similar to what Zoom currently offers. You can add stick notes, drawings, and comments on your boards and view them whenever you want.
Furthermore, Zoom is planning to expand and offer functionality like Facebook’s Horizon Workrooms. According to Zoom, the share VR meeting space can host video meetings and connect to Zoom Whiteboard. Additionally, you will also get the functionality to pin a Zoom Whiteboard to your virtual desk or to the wall for everyone to see. Likewise, you can draw along with your colleagues during meetings.
