Indian citizens will finally be able to use 5G services as the service is now released in India. On October 1, Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India launched the 5G services in India at the Indian Mobile Congress. What’s more, telecom operators, including Airtel 5G, Reliance Jio, and Vi are among the first ones to offer 5G services to the public.
Moreover, 5G services will be rolled out gradually in India. Initially, the service will arrive in cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Siliguri, and Varanasi.
Airtel 5G
As of now, Airtel has released its 5G network in eight cities. The cities include Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Siliguri, and Varanasi. Moreover, the operator will roll out 5G services in other cities by March 2023 and in all the cities by March 2024.

Reliance Jio 5G
Reliance will release its 5G services starting October 24, 2022. The services will first release in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai. Plus, Jio will release the 5G services PAN India by December 2023.
Vi and BSNL
Vi has not released its schedule for the 5G release in India. We hope that the telecom operator will soon release details about the 5G rollout. Moreover, BSNL has also confirmed that it will also release 5G services in India from August 15, 2023.
One thing to note here is that none of the telecom operators have revealed their pricing and tariffs for 5G. However, Jio did reveal that its services will be affordable. Rumors revealed that Jio plans to release an ultra-affordable 5G phone in India. In fact, a more recent report also revealed the specs of the device.
Users will need a 5G smartphone to take advantage of the 5G networks. What’s more, Airtel has revealed that the existing SIM cards are 5G ready. So, the users don’t have to worry about replacing their SIM cards. In terms of pricing, Airtel is offering 5G services at 4G rates for now. However, we expect the company to release a new pricing plan moving forward.
