Apple iPhone 14 will feature notable changes, including a new design. On top of that, the next iteration of iPhones might also bring faster-charging speeds, according to a recent leak.

This is the first time Apple is trying to do something like this. On the other hand, we have already seen so many Android manufacturing companies introducing faster-charging speeds. Apple hasn’t tweaked the battery charging speeds because it can impact battery health. Specifically, faster-charging speeds can have a negative effect on battery life; Apple definitely doesn’t want to risk that.

Apple iPhone 14 battery faster charging upgrades

OPPO and other Chinese smartphone manufacturers are not shy to focus on offering faster-charging speeds to the users. Just a few days ago, OPPO recently revealed its 150W SuperVooc technology that will further boost the charging speeds. There are a select number of smartphones that will support this tech. Plus, not all of OPPO’s handsets will charge at the highest speed.

However, it is important to note that all the devices that will support 150W charging will need just 5 minutes for 50% charging. And they will need just 15 minutes to juice up to 100%.

The Apple iPhone 14 will not feature such charging speeds. In any case, we are not expecting Apple to do it. On the contrary, the company might work on enhancing the efficiency of the components. Moreover, Apple could pack the upcoming iPhone series with a larger battery. And to make that happen, the company has to save space inside the device.

The larger the battery space, the bigger the battery. A bigger battery reduces the impact of charging speeds.

30W GaN Charging Speeds

It is important to note that last year the flagship variant from iPhone 13 could reach 27W charging speeds. However, it was only possible with other chargers, including laptop chargers that support higher wattage.

What’s more, Ming-Chi Kuo’s recently shared that Apple might bring a new 30W GaN charger later this year. However, he doesn’t mention iPhone 14 anywhere. But if Apple releases such a charger iPhone 14 series will definitely support it.

Moreover, if the company does introduce a new GaN charger; it will be beneficial for the iPhone ecosystem. Therefore, the company has nothing to lose and everything to gain to release it to serve iPhone 14 series.

Furthermore, let’s reiterate that Apple doesn’t ship chargers with iPhones. So, you will have to buy the charger separately.
