Reliance Jio has announced that starting on October 5. Its True 5G service will roll out in four Indian cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Varanasi. Existing Jio customers will receive an invitation to the True 5G beta test. Customers who sign up for the True 5G beta trial will receive data transfer rates of up to 1Gbps.

What’s more, users who accept invitations to test the Jio 5G Welcome Offer will automatically be upgraded to the True 5G service. They do not require a new SIM card to utilize 5G services on their 5G-capable smartphone. In addition to that, to allow 5G service on their devices, phone manufacturers and Jio have already begun working together.

According to Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited “Jio has prepared an ambitious and fastest-ever 5G roll-out plan for a country of our size. 5G cannot remain an exclusive service available to the privileged few or those in our largest cities. It must be available to every citizen, every home, and every business across India,”.

As soon as the network is prepared for ground deployment, Jio will roll out the 5G beta trial service to additional cities. It is worth mentioning that users can continue the beta test as long as the network coverage in a city is complete.

Jio 5G has various benefits

According to Jio, its 5G service will have a three-fold user advantage over its rivals. First off, there are no dependencies on the 4G network because the Jio network is constructed using a stand-alone architecture. Another benefit of using the new technology is that the 5G service will be able to give a low-latency network, a 5G speech capability, and network slicing.

Additionally, the company has a variety of 5G spectrum in its possession. The company purchased them earlier this year at 5G spectrum auctions. Moreover, Jio is the only operator with access to the 700 MHz low-band spectrum, which guarantees improved indoor 5G coverage.

Furthermore, we would like to reiterate that eight cities have already seen the introduction of Airtel 5G. While Vodafone Idea is anticipated to soon unveil its 5G services in India.
