Amazon Alexa Losing Its Ability To Read Emails From Next Week

Alexa, Amazon’s virtual assistant, is an immensely powerful assistant. As a matter of fact, Alexa has so many features that there’s a strong possibility you’re not aware of everything she can do. Did you realize, for example, that Alexa has access to your emails? You may connect Alexa to your email account and have it read your messages to you. At least for a few more days, because the feature is being phased off by Amazon next week. Amazon will disconnect all email accounts from Alexa on Monday, November 8th.

Amazon Alexa Will Not Be Able To Read Emails Anymore

Users on Reddit and Twitter have received emails about the change. They posted the information on the platforms.

In the email, Amazon explained to the customers that- “We’re writing to inform you that beginning on November 8th, 2021, email access will no longer be supported for Alexa customers,”. “This means you will no longer be able to link your Gmail or Microsoft email account with Alexa to browse or manage your email, and any linked email account(s) will automatically be unlinked.”

Moreover, “Related email features” would also be disrupted, according to the email. This covers email notifications as well as email routines. Alexa will also be unable to track packages delivered by third parties. Alexa could previously examine your inbox for shipment notifications if she had access to your email. You will, however, be able to track any Amazon orders that you place. To find out when Amazon deliveries are likely to arrive, ask your device “Alexa, where’s my stuff?” So if you order the majority of your items from Amazon, you’re safe.

The email-reading feature was initially introduced by Amazon in 2018. After integrating an email account, users can use voice commands to view, delete, archive, and reply to messages. Anyone who was using this feature in the future will have to revert to using phones and laptops. The good news is that you can still connect Alexa to your calendar.
