Apple recently introduced the Apple Watch Series 7. The new Apple Watch 7 has many features, out of which the most notable one is the fast charging system. According to Apple, the new system is 33% faster. The company claims that it can charge the watch to about 80% in 45 minutes. What’s more, if you want to take full advantage of the new charging capabilities, you should use the new charger that comes with Series 7. It is a fresh Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger that is completely different from the old model.

Models older than Watch 7 doesn’t have fast charging capabilites

It is worth noting that the new and old models look identical from the outside. However, only the new charger can juice up the Series 7 at better speeds. So, make sure you use the charger recommend by the company.

Moreover, Apple has stopped selling the old USB-C charger; the one that doesn’t offer fast charging via its site. However, you can still buy them from other retailers like Amazon. So you have the choice of buying both, but we advise you to go for the first. Anyways, one thing to note here is that if you are using an Apple Watch charging dock or stand with a build-in charger; you cannot take advantage of faster-charging capabilities on the Series 7.

Furthermore, Apple has not updated the charging capabilities of the older Apple Watch generation. So you cannot enjoy the fast speeds on other watches except Series 7. On the official website, it is clearly mentioned that “Fast charging is only compatible with Apple Watch Series 7. Other models will have regular charge times.”
