Fossil Group teased the availability of Alexa on its smartwatches when the Skagen Falster Gen 6 was released. Although the app has been available for some time, it has remained unusable – until now. The Alexa software is now live; it is accessible for usage on some of the best Wear OS watches from Fossil Group, according to users (via 9to5Google).
When you first start the app; you’ll be guided through the basic setup process, which includes granting the app certain permissions, such as the ability to make and manage phone calls. It is important to mention that you can access Alexa app on your Fossil watch only when you’ve connected it via the Alexa app on Android phones.

The functionality is straightforward. Because there’s no always-listening feature here, you’ll have to make do with one-tap access. You’ll still be able to ask Alexa to play music give you the weather forecast, operate your smart home devices. Plus, you can also dial your phone if you need assistance finding it, and more.
While the Alexa app doesn’t have an always-listening feature; it does encourage you to establish Alexa as a physical button shortcut for quick access throughout the setup process. There is, however, a simple Alexa tile that should work for people who are happy with their present shortcut setup. The Fossil Group says it “looks forward to increasing the capabilities of both the Tile and the App,” but doesn’t elaborate.
