Sony’s new PS5 faceplates are available in a variety of colors.

Sony has officially shown its PS5 faceplates. The console covers will be available in a variety of colors, including black, red, pink, blue, and purple. And it will fit both the original PS5 and the PS5 Digital Edition. In most regions where the PS5 is available, Sony will release the black and red PS5 console covers in January, with the remaining colors following in the first half of 2022.

The company released the new covers to match the colors of the new DualSense controller options, which include pink, blue, and purple. They will release these additional hues in January. They will offer the purple edition through Sony’s PlayStation direct early access program in the UK, US, and Germany. On February 11th, other stores will have the purple DualSense controller in stock.

The PS5 black cover will also be available on January 21st via Sony’s PlayStation direct online shop, with additional retailers following suit on February 18th. The PS5 covers will cost $54.99, while the new controller alternatives will cost $74.99, with some of them being preordered on Amazon.

Sony has announced new console covers only weeks after patenting its PS5 faceplates. Multiple third-party firms selling black faceplates have been sued by Sony. Sony threatened DBrand with legal action, causing the business to recall their faceplates and replace them with a fresh design and a marketing campaign mocking Sony’s legal staff just days later.
