Nintendo is finally adding Bluetooth audio support to the Nintendo Switch through an update. Earlier, it was possible to connect compatible controllers via Bluetooth. However, it was not possible to use audio over Bluetooth; there was an audio jack on the console. Obviously, it is better to have a wireless connection ability.

Even without having that Bluetooth audio functionality, you can use a Bluetooth dongle that connects to the headphone jack or the USB-C port; you can use the same to connect wireless audio devices. In case if you don’t want to buy one, you can wait for Nintendo to release the update that activates Bluetooth audio across its Switch lineup. After which, you can enjoy your favorite music with Bluetooth headphones on the Switch.

The update carrying Bluetooth audio support is already out

What’s more, Nintendo is already rolling out the update for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite. However, as of now, we are not sure if the Nintendo Switch OLED Model will have the feature pre-loaded out of the box. The device will arrive in the market on October 8; we will get to know once the device is available for purchase.

It is disappointing that it took Nintendo 4 years to bring the Bluetooth audio feature to the Switch. It is a feature that should have been available out of the box. Anyways, we are glad now that the feature is finally available.

In the future, we are expecting Nintendo to permanently discount its first-party games that are more than 2 years old like the Breath of The Wild.
