AMD Radeon RX 7000 Desktop Series Released, Here is Everything There is to Know

AMD has revealed the Radeon RX 7000 desktop graphic cards series. This announcement comes days after NVIDIA’s launch of the RTX 4000 GPU series. AMD has packed the RX 7000 series with all kinds of improvements, including the AMD RDNA 3 architecture. Here is everything there’s to know about the series.  

AMD Radeon RX 7000 series details

The new RX 7000 series is based on the AMD RDNA 3 architecture that will deliver up to 54% of performance gains over the previous iteration. Plus, the RDNA 3 also features an advanced chiplet design to offer better performance with power efficiency.

Moreover, the chipset is based on 5nm and 6nm process nodes, including a new 5nm with up to 96CUs. These 96 compute units are like the core of the GPU. They are combined with around 6 6nm Memory Cache Die. The new design will allow the chip to offer 15% higher frequencies at up to 54% better power efficiency.

Furthermore, the new Radeon RX series GPUs offer great performance gains over the last generation. They deliver up to 1.7x higher 4K performance in select games. The performance gains are also supported by the expanded memory and a bigger memory bus. That allows for the GPUs to pack 24GB of GDDR6 memory and a 384-bit memory bus. 

Besides the things mentioned above, the chipset will also come packed with AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution, a new version of FSR 3 with better performance, and a new New AMD RDNA 3.  

Additionally, AMD is also adding its advantage framework to desktops. It features the ability to combine new GPUs with AMD’s suite of software. 

Pricing and Availability

The AMD RX 7900 XTX will cost about $999 whereas the RX 7900XT will go for around $899. Plus, they should arrive for users to purchase starting December 13, 2022. Users can buy the cards from and other sites including ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, Sapphire, and ASRock.  

Without a doubt, the new Radeon RX 7000 series is equipped with some great upgrades from the last iteration.
