In a blog post, Apple stated that “M2 Pro scales up the architecture of M2 to give an up to 12-core CPU and up to 19-core GPU, as well as up to 32GB of fast unified memory. With a GPU with up to 38 cores, double the unified memory bandwidth, and up to 96GB of unified memory, M2 Max expands on the features of M2 Pro.
Apple officially unveiled its first product for 2023 on Thursday. The Cupertino-based business unveiled the new Mac Mini and two next-generation SoCs, the M2 Pro and M2 Max. According to the blog, M2 Pro and M2 Max extend the game-changing performance and capabilities of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. M2 Pro also offers professional performance to the Mac mini for the first time.

M2 Pro
M2 Pro is based on a second-generation 5-nanometer process technology. According to Apple, it has twice as many transistors (40 billion) as the M2 and roughly 20% more than the M1 Pro.
Moreover, it has up to 32GB of low-latency unified memory and 200GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, which is twice as much as M2. With up to eight high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores per next-generation 10- or 12-core CPU, multithreaded CPU performance will be up to 20% quicker than that of the 10-core CPU in the M1 Pro.
M2 Max
The 12-core, next-generation CPU in M2 Max is identical to that in M2 Pro. With up to 38 GPU cores and a bigger L2 cache, the GPU is even more powerful.
It supports up to 96GB of unified memory and has a 400GB/s unified memory bandwidth. Additionally, it contains 10 billion more transistors than M1 Max, or 67 billion.
Mac Mini
The brand-new M2 Pro and M2 give the Mac Mini a boost. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, stated that the Mac mini with M2 is a fantastic deal because it offers even more performance and a lower starting price. Additionally, the Mac mini with M2 Pro is unlike any other desktop in its class for those who require outstanding professional performance.
An 8-core CPU with four high-performance and four high-efficiency cores, as well as a 10-core GPU, are both included in the Mac mini with M2. According to Apple, it has up to 24GB of unified memory and 100GB/s of bandwidth, which accelerates tasks like Adobe Photoshop picture editing by up to 50% more than the previous version.
