Details about Dimensity 1300
MediaTek Dimensity 1300 is the successor to last year’s flagship MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip. The predecessor enjoyed its fair share of success. Now, the new chipset will try to take advantage of that popularity. Plus, it is better than its predecessor with a bunch of tweaks and improvements. What’s more, MediaTek Dimensity 1300 will arrive with a price bracket higher than its Dimensity 800 and 900 series. Whereas, it will cost lower than the higher end Dimensity 8100 and 9000. Overall, it will try to bridge the gap between the two price segments.
As for specifications, the processor will feature 4 Cortex-A78 cores and 4 Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, which amount to 2GHz. Moreover, the chipset is based on TSMC’s 6nm processor. Plus, it can support 64-bit applications. It will come loaded with ARM Mali-G77 MC9 CPU; it is just as powerful as DImensity 1200 GPU.
Let’s talk about the upgrades, the new chipset features an improved ISP over last year. Now, the chipset can support a 200MP sensor and hardware-accelerated AV1 decoding for faster 4K streaming. That’s not all, the chipset will also offer better low-light shots thanks to real-time 3-exposure fusion for the best shot.
Besides that, the chip also supports 16GB of 4266Mbps LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 3.1 support, and support for 2520 x 1080 168Hz displays. It also has support for 5G on Dual SIMs.
As for release, the chipset might debut with the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2T and Redmi Note 12 series set to release in Q2 2022.
