Intel is marketing its new consumer GPU named Intel Arc. This will cover not only Intel’s high-end discrete GPU but also multiple hardware generations. The first of which is expected to be launched as the codename ‘Alchemist ‘ in Q1 2022. The Arc-based intel early 2022 Alchemist GPUs will arrive for both desktops and notebooks.
Intel will give tough competition to both AMD and Nvidia. Though we are not much clear about the potential performance of the first Alchemist GPUs. Anyways, Intel released a teaser video of it today which unveiled the Psychonauts, powering PUBG, and many things more.
Intel Alchemist GPU will feature real-time ray tracing, video upscaling along with variable-rate shading. Moreover, Intel is also making promises of AI-accelerated supersampling. Hence, it is safe to assume that Intel is fighting against Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology.

AMD also launched its very own FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) answer to DLSS in June. But it’s only known to be using the spatial upscaling technique in place of AI-based temporal upscaling. The main purpose of all these is to upgrade the games from a lower resolution to much higher. In order to provide smoother frame rates without a noticeable compromise to image quality.
What’s more, Roger Chandler, head of Intel’s client GPU business said that the team is making sure to provide a first-class experience to its users when they will be available the following year.
The launch of the Intel Arc brand and the reveal of future hardware generations signifies Intel’s deep and continued commitment to gamers and creators everywhere,” says Roger Chandler, head of Intel’s client.
