A well-known leaker revealed some details on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC and MediaTek Dimensity 2000 chipsets, which we can expect to release soon. The leaked material provides us a fair sense of what to expect when the company will reveal them in the coming months.
Leakers released the information on Weibo. Samsung (via GSMArena) will produce the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 chipset, which will include an octa-core CPU and utilize the company’s 4nm manufacturing technology. The CPU will be based on the Cortex-X2 architecture, with the main core clocked at 3.0 GHz and 3x Cortex-A710-based performance cores clocked at 2.5 GHz.
MediaTek Dimensity 2000:
The MediaTek Dimensity 2000 SoC may have the same configuration as the Qualcomm. But the three performance cores are clocked at 2.85 GHz, which would put it slightly ahead of Qualcomm’s offering and give it a significant performance gain. The company will manufacture the Dimensity 2000 chipset using the 4nm technology. But this time by TSMC. MediaTek will also use a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU.
Expected Launch Date:
It’s unknown when the Snapdragon or MediaTek chipsets will be formally introduced. But Qualcomm usually unveils new SoCs in December at its Hawaii event, so we’ll probably learn more then. When it comes to MediaTek, it’s unknown when the firm will eventually reveal the much-anticipated powerhouse. But it’ll almost certainly happen soon.
