Less than a month after its release, the iPhone 14 series is having software issues. If you purchased one, you might remember that the moment you turned it on, an update appeared right away. Since then, Apple has reportedly been working diligently to put out further fires that the iOS 16.0.2 update didn’t put out. As a result, the company has released another update- iOS 16.0.3.

iOS 16.0.3 from Apple is hardly a big update. The major upgrades, as indicated by their names, are those with solid numbers like iOS 16. These are the yearly releases that roll out hundreds of new features and modifications all at once. Then there are lesser versions (like iOS 16.1) that are not as revolutionary but do tend to introduce enjoyable and practical new features to the mix.

Last but not least, there are patches like iOS 16.0.3 that typically include critical bug fixes that can’t wait for a bigger upgrade like iOS 16.1.

Users of the newest iPhone models, including the 14, 14, Plus, 14, Pro, and 14 Pro Max, must get this update right now. Although there doesn’t appear to be a remedy for Crash Detection contacting 911 when you ride a roller coaster. However, there are fixes for several issues, including issues with alerts, low mic levels, and slow cameras.

Update Your iPhone using the following steps:

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Scroll down and tap “General”
  3. Select “Software update”
  4. Select the software update option when it appears.

Once the iPhone has a charge level of 50%, iOS 16.0.3 will be updated. The earliest practical time should be used to install this update.

Your iPhone will ultimately update itself if Automatic Updates is enabled. Although this process might occasionally take weeks, it appears Apple is attempting to speed up automated security updates, ostensibly to protect as many iPhones as possible. (I just noticed a message saying, “Your iPhone is running 16.0.2. Later tonight, this security update will attempt to install.
