The details about the Z690 chipset along with the Intel Alder Lake CPU are out thanks to Videocardz. The platform did say that the CPU looks like an engineering sample. However, it looks more like a confidential press sample.
Intel Alder Lake and Z690 chipset leaked
The 12th gen Intel Alder Lake processor will come equipped with PCIe 5.0 that should come either in a 1×16 or a 2×8 design. Plus, the chipset plan on the hardware indicates that only Intel SSDs could support this lane. It is worth noting that DDR4 is natively supported with two channels; which is generally used in high-end motherboards. Moreover, Intel is using UHD graphics instead of XE.

Furthermore, the hardware equipment is also equipped with 4x PCle 4.0 lanes for a PCle 4.0 SSD or Intel Optane memory. On top of that, there are three HDMI or DisplayPorts support coming from the CPU and an x8 DMI 4.0 link interconnect CPU and the chipset.
As for the chipset, the platform will arrive with up to 12 lanes of PCle 4.0. It will also have up to 16 lanes of PCle 3.0. Besides that, there will also be up to 4x USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 ports, 10x USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 ports, 10x USB 3.2 Gen1x1 ports and 16x USB 2.0 ports.
Further, Intel will offer the 5G base-T MAC/PHY Ethernet connection alongside Intel Integrated MAC. The MAC will be connected with an Ethernet connection over PCle x1 and SMBus. Plus, Intel is also offering Platform Trust technology, which is necessary to support Windows 11. The chipset will also feature support for Optane Memory support and Intel Smart Sound technology.
