The size of phones is increasing. For instance, the Pixel 6 Pro will boast the largest screen of any Google-branded phone to date, at 6.7 inches. Naturally, as screens grow larger and, processors become more powerful. Hence, the batteries must grow in size to keep up. The latest Pixel 6 leak claims that the Pro will have rapid charging capabilities of up to 33 watts.
According to XDA-Developers, a Taiwanese regulatory certification label for a gadget that can charge at up to 11 volts and 3 amps has been issued. The labels appear to be mostly intact, therefore this appears to be the case. Unfortunately, if you want to make use of such speeds, you’ll have to bring your own charger. Since Google, like Apple and Samsung, will discontinue offering chargers with phones after the Pixel 5a.

The Pixel 5, Pixel 4, and Pixel 3 all have a maximum charging rate of 18 watts. Hence, 33 watts is a little less than double. Even with a 25% larger battery than last year’s flagship, this would result in a significant increase in charging speed. Some of the most powerful Android competitors, such as the Galaxy S21 Ultra (25 watts), would be beaten by 33 watts, but it would still charge well below the dramatic 65-watt charging of phones like the OnePlus 9 and Asus ROG Phone 5.
The leak doesn’t mention quicker wireless charging, but prior rumors suggest a new Pixel Stand revision will allow faster 23-watt Qi charging with a built-in fan.
