Without a doubt, the Samsung Galaxy S is one of the top ranges from the company. In fact, it directly competes with iPhones from Apple in more than one aspect. Now, the company is adding yet another factor to make devices more attractive. The South Korean giant will now support four years of Android updates and five years of security patches on key devices. Obviously, this is a treat for the users.
All of the aforesaid information was leaked by Evan Blass. He shared a press release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 containing the information. What’s more, we have no reason to suspect the press release; it looks pretty solid.
List of purported devices that will get fours years of Android Updates
Here are all series mentioned in the press release
- Samsung Galaxy S21 series
- Galaxy S22 series
- Tab S8 series
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
All the aforesaid devices will receive extended Android updates and security patches.
It is worth noting that almost all Android devices get just two years of updates. Hence, this is a big deal, particularly when it comes to older device ranges, including S21. Samsung already had beaten its competition when it announced three years of Android updates and four years of security patches. Now, the Korean giant has taken it to another level. Anyways, we will have to wait to see if this has much effect on the sales of the Samsung devices.
Besides that, the press releases reiterates everything that we already know about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series. For instance, we already know the entire specs sheet thanks to Blass.
