Sony produces some of the best noise-canceling headphones available in the market. Sony WH-1000XM4, the company’s current flagship headphones have received widespread praise. That is not surprising, after all, they offer best-in-class ANC. incredible sound quality, and long battery life. Earlier speculations suggested that Sony is about to release the WH-1000XM5. A more recent leak has provided us with our first glimpse at the impending headphones.
TechnikNews revealed high-resolution press renders of the Sony WH-1000XM5, revealing the headphones’ overall design in all its grandeur. From the renders, it appears as if WH-1000XM4 is almost identical to its predecessor. In reality, the WH-1000XM5 has a few significant differences.

The earpads appear larger, and the headband cushioning appears thicker. It must make the new model even more comfortable to wear. What’s more, the on/off switch appears to have been replaced with a slider; and the “Custom” button has been renamed to “NC/Ambient,” as it was on the WH-1000XM3. Moreover, the headphones might arrive in at least two hues: Black and Silver.

Sony WH-1000XM5 specifications
According to TechnikNews, the Sony WH-1000XM5 will have a battery life of up to 40 hours with ANC; it is ten hours longer than the WH-1000XM4. However, the charging time has been raised somewhat; according to reports, the headphones will take 3.5 hours to fully charge. We might also get to see significant gains in ANC effectiveness since the new model is said to feature two dedicated noise cancelling chips and three microphones. The headphones also offer a 3.5mm audio connection and a USB Type C connector, as well as Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity.
There’s no information on when the Sony WH-1000XM5 will be released or how much it will cost. Sony, on the other hand, hasn’t confirmed anything regarding the headphones.
