Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 Out With New Feature For Pixel Devices

Android-13

The release notes for Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 have been published by Android Developers. As usual, Google has named the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, Pixel 5, 5a, and the Pixel 4a and its 4a 5G edition as eligible devices for this current testing period.

Google hasn’t explicitly specified in its release notes what is new with this beta phase. However, Mishaal Rahman has set up a Twitter thread to list some new things to watch out for.

Users can find a new instructional focused on Android 13’s “transient taskbar” in the QPR2 Beta 2 version.

Additionally, this upgrade makes a transient taskbar available. On your Pixel, you can access this taskbar from the bottom by swiping up. It shows Android’s recommended apps based on your daily activities.

Support for displaying a Shortcuts page in Settings > Display > Lock screen has also been included for this new beta phase. Pixel customers would then be able to personalise the shortcuts that show up on their lock screen. However, it looks like the feature is not yet accessible for testing in this beta. Rahman’s subsequent investigation, however, reveals that two default shortcuts are the QR Code scanner and Google Wallet.

If the relevant software supports it, users can actually experiment with a shortcut for controlling their smart home gadgets from their lock screen.

You must enable this option by going to Settings > Display > Lock screen.

Google has added something for Pixel Tablet in Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update

In the second part of QPR2 Beta 2, Google has also added something related to Pixel Tablet. The Pixel Tablet can reportedly charge to an assumed 80% by docking. This seems to be the tablet’s equivalent of the “adaptive charging” function found on Pixel devices.

Last but not least, it appears that users of work profiles on Pixel devices have benefited from a pleasant change. If you take a screenshot while using the work profile, it will be saved in a folder just for work profiles rather than your personal one.
