Google is getting ready to launch the update for the Pixel 6 series. It is one of the most-awaited OTA for the device. What’s more, Google published OTA and factory images of the January 2022 update on its developer website. It means that anyone can now sideload the update to their Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro. Anyways, the official update has already out for some of the devices, according to the folks at The Verge.
Moreover, Google has confirmed the fact that it has started releasing the update. The company further added that the update will arrive gradually; meaning it will arrive in devices all over next week.
Furthermore, you can check for updates with the help of the phones’ built-in checker. If you haven’t received the update, you can sideload it. Nevertheless, it will be best for you to wait for the update, instead of manually installing it on your device. After all, we have already seen the trouble that December’s update caused.

January 2022 Update
The January 2022 Update, includes several bug fixes, alongside several new features. Pixel users are waiting for these features for quite a while now. The update will bring improvement to the fingerprint sensor, camera, and support for 23W wireless charging. In addition to that, you can use the Pixel 6 Pro’s ultra-wideband chip for digital car key access to compatible BMWs. Plus, it also brings Quick Tap to Snap integration. It is the same feature that Google and Snapchat acknowledged during the release event.
Initially, Google planned to load the aforesaid features in the December update. However, the company didn’t implement them after users complained of connectivity troubles. Now, Google has announced that the January update will address those bugs.
