Tensor G2 chipset-powered new features and improvements were introduced with this year’s Google Pixel flagship range. However, they won’t remain exclusive to the Pixel 7 line for long, it is nice to hear that. Google is bringing some features of Pixel 7 to Pixel 6 devices.
Pixel 7 features that other phones will also receive
Specifically, the Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a will eventually receive some of the capabilities of the Pixel 7 series, according to Google. One of the standout features is Clear Calling. It uses machine learning to reduce background noise. Thereby, it tries to improve the clarity of the voice on the other end of the call. Google said that Clear Calling offers a superior phone call experience even if the person you’re speaking to is “on a windy street or in a noisy restaurant”.

While the newer Pixel phones’ improved SuperRes Zoom won’t be available on the Pixel 6 series. It will, however, gain an updated Real Tone algorithm. The new features will be immediately incorporated into the Portrait and Night Sight modes. Additionally, Google plans to implement the Spatial Audio feature of the Pixel Buds Pro on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The company will do it with a later feature drop. Last but not least, the Pixel 4a and all subsequent phones will get the At a Glance widget upgrades. Plus, they will also get the Audio Message Transcription feature.
Sadly, the big G won’t be bringing Face Unlock from the Pixel 7 series to the Pixel 6, as some people had hoped.
