iQOO-Neo-8-Series

Do you know how everyone’s been talking about the iQOO Neo series since it launched?

Well, there’s a good reason for that! These phones are known for their amazing performance, battery life, and cameras and offer excellent value. The iQOO Neo 6 is still a fan favorite, and the Neo 7 has kept up the momentum with its smooth gaming and multimedia experience.

Get ready, because the iQOO Neo 8 series is about to be unveiled on May 23 in China, with a global launch expected a couple of months later.

We’ve got all the juicy details about the iQOO Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro right here. So let’s dive in!

Design & Display

This time around, iQOO Neo 8 Series is switching things up by launching not one, but two smartphones in the Neo series—a standard model and a Pro model with better specs. They’ll probably look pretty similar, though.

Remember the iQOO 6 and 7? They both had a curved rear panel and frame, with a rectangular camera module. Even with a polycarbonate back, they looked super-premium and felt great in your hand.

But things are changing with the Neo 8 lineup.

Both devices are expected to have triple-camera setups, and leaked images of the Pro model show an “OIS” label, confirming optical image stabilization. We haven’t had a glimpse of the front panel yet. But it’s likely to feature a punch-hole design for the selfie camera. The display will likely be flat on both phones.

The non Pro model should have a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 2160Hz PWM dimming technology. The Pro model might have the same display but with a higher 144Hz refresh rate. Both displays will be supported by Vivo’s dedicated V1+ image chip.

Specifications

iQOO Neo phones have always been focused on performance, even though they’re mid-rangers.

It looks like the new Neo 8 series won’t disappoint either, with the Pro model expected to feature the Dimensity 9200 Plus chipset, 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The standard iQOO Neo 8 should be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

The cameras are getting an upgrade too. iQOO confirmed that the Neo 8 Pro will have a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) support, using the same Sony IMX866VCS sensor found in the Vivo X90 Pro+. We don’t know the details of the secondary cameras yet. But the iQOO Neo 8 might also have a 50MP primary shooter, just with a different sensor and no OIS.

Both models will have a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging technology, under-display fingerprint sensors, and come pre-installed with Android 13. Chinese models will come with OriginOS 3.0 skin, whereas FuntouchOS will be available on the global versions.

iQOO Neo 8 Series: Expected Price

With all these cool features, the iQOO Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro might be a bit pricier. While we don’t have exact numbers, the vanilla model is estimated to start around $350-$400.

For reference, the iQOO Neo 7 is available in two variants: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage.

The 8GB RAM variant costs ₹29,999 ($361), while the 12GB RAM variant is priced at ₹33,999 ($403).
