MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Specifications Leaked

In a recent development, the specifications for the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset have appeared online. They suggest that the chipset is at par with the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Digital chat station, a well-known tipster, posted on Weibo about the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chip.

As for the specs, the chipset contains four Cortex-A78 cores that run at 2.0GHz with a maximum speed of 2.85GHz. What’s more, the chipset will be based on TSMC’s 5nm process; instead of the 4nm node used in the Dimensity 9000 SoC. In addition to that, the CPU also features ARM V9 architecture rather than the X2 super core. As a result, it is equipped with the Mali G510 GPU rather than the Mali G710 GPU.

Moreover, there are various questions about the GPU differences between the Mali G510 and Mali G610 GPUs. Plus, the chipset also features support for LDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. In addition, the tipster submitted benchmarks that suggested a Snapdragon 888-like performance, with a June 2021 release date. The GFX Bench ES 3.0 Manhattan benchmark returns a score of roughly 170 frames per second. From the results, it appears the chipset is similar to the Adreno 660 GPU performance.

The MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC might appear in mid-range smartphones this year, according to the leak. The tipster further adds that the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 will make its debut on a Redmi smartphone. However, he has not revealed the specific date and name of the smartphone. However, if we have to guess the processor could make its debut with the next Redmi K50 series, based on its characteristics.
