Nothing OS 1.1.4 Brings New Features, Bug Fixes, and Camera Improvements

Nothing Phone (1)

Nothing has just released the fourth OTA update for its Nothing Phone (1), which is quite amusing in such a short time. The company has launched just one device as of now. Anyways, let’s get back to the update, the Nothing OS 1.1.4 update brings several new features, bug fixes, and more to the device.

What’s more, the update is 136MB in size and it also features the September Android security patch. Here is all you need to know about the update.

Nothing OS 1.14 New features

  1. Users can now change the location of the navigation buttons. They can have the back button on the right which is there on the left by default.
  2. Better integration for the Nothing ear (1) earbuds. Users now have the option to customize gestures according to their needs. They can switch between noise cancellation mode and more.
  3. Brings support for LHDC high-definition audio codec.

Camera improvements

The new update brings a watermark to the camera app. The watermark is nothing but Nothing’s logo. Disappointingly, the company has not offered anything to customize this as of now, so you cannot change the watermark to your name. Anyways, you still get an option to add a live time watermark that captures the time when the photo was taken. Moreover, the new update also features improvements for the ultra-wide camera. Moving forward, it will offer better consistency in terms of colors as well as better color calibration. Lastly, there is one more addition- a new Motion Detection Algorithm for better stability. It is clear from the name, you can click better pictures of moving objects, once the update is installed.

System improvements

As discussed earlier, the update also carries the September security patch. According to Nothing, there are some other changes too, including better thermal performance, reduced battery consumption when using AoD and better face unlock.

Further, the Nothing OS 1.1.4 also contains fixes for some bugs that were causing network-related issues. For some cellular carriers, the device is used to show unknown contacts for incoming calls.
