The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are now receiving OxygenOS 11.0.9.9, which is based on Android 11. The update also includes the October 2021 security patch as well as the Files by Google app.
While Android 12 is now available on Google Pixel phones, OnePlus has sent out a tiny upgrade to the erstwhile flagship pair. The news was introduced via the regular Forum announcement post. In terms of updates, OxygenOS 11.0.9.9 is very minimal, although there is one major inclusion in the form of Google Files. This doesn’t appear to eliminate the default OnePlus File Manager software. The latter is better for deep file management in many aspects.
It is not a secret that OnePlus offers frequent security updates. Plus, it is also encouraging to see the most recent October 2021 security patch included in the OxygenOS 11.0.9.9 upgrade. It also means that the OnePlus 8 series is the most up-to-date device range from the Chinese company.
