The OnePlus 9RT is likely to be the company’s next smartphone. It has been making headlines since August. We’ve learned virtually everything there is to know about it in the last several months. The company’s co-founder previewed the launch of this handset yesterday (October 7).
Pete Lau, co-founder and Chief Product Officer of OnePlus, recently posted on Weibo about the OnePus T series of smartphones that they have introduced so far. Finally, the article states that they will give a new name to the next model in the range, and they will release the additional information today (October 8).
Unfortunately, Weibo ruins the excitement by disclosing the device’s name, which is ‘OnePlus 9RT’. This is a post from the yet-to-be-released phone that the brand executive posted.
OnePlus said last month that they won’t release the OnePlus 9T and OnePlus 9T Pro in 2021. However, no information on the OnePlus 9RT has been released by the company before. As a result, this is the first time we’ve heard from OnePlus regarding the modified version of the OnePlus 9R.
According to earlier reports, the OnePlus 9RT would include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera, ColorOS 12 (which might be based on Android 11), a 6.55-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, up to 12GB RAM/256GB storage, and three color options (blue, silver, black).
In a word, the OnePlus 9RT will be an upgraded version of the OnePlus 9R. According to Pete Lau’s Weibo tweet, the business will reveal the China launch date today.

The company has set the launch date for the OnePlus 9RT for October 13, according to the
OnePlus released teasers on Weibo to indicate the OnePlus 9RT’s debut date.
On October 13, at 7:30 p.m. CST Asia (5 p.m. IST), the launch will take place in China. The OnePlus Buds Z2, the company’s next-generation true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones, will be unveiled during the event with the OnePlus 9RT, according to a teaser shared on Weibo.
We can also expect the OnePlus 9RT will arrive in India, however, the company has yet to clarify whether this would happen concurrently with the launch in China or at a later date.
