Realme is one more addition to the list of companies that are gearing up to launch their latest devices in January. The company will announce the Realme GT Neo 5 on January 5. Interestingly, Xiaomi is also planning to release the Redmi Note 12 series in India on the same day. However, the important thing to note here is Realme will release the forthcoming device in a different country. What’s more, the Chinese firm might roll out an Indian version soon.
Realme GT Neo 5 purported specs

Realme has been quite secretive about the features and specs of the upcoming device. It hasn’t teased anything at all. However, we still know quite a bit about the smartphone thanks to various leaks and rumors. Considering that Realme GT Neo 5 is a premium smartphone. Hence, it should feature a premium SoC under the hood. According to the rumors, it will pack the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. On top of that, it might also don a 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED screen with 144Hz refresh rates.
Moreover, the company might offer 240W fast charging support on this smartphone. If it happens, it will be a significant change over 150W fast charging support in Realme GT Neo 3. What’s more, Realme could roll out two variants with different specs in terms of charging and battery. It did the same with the older variant. According to a leak, one of the models could pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 150W fast charging. On the other, the second variant might come equipped with a 4,600mAH battery with support for 240W fast charging.

Realme might be skipping Realme GT Neo 4
Realme release the GT Neo 3 earlier this year with rumors suggesting the company is also working on GT Neo 4. However, that didn’t turn out correct since Realme announced the GT Neo 5 instead of Neo 4 essentially suggesting it has skipped the GT Neo 4. We are not sure about the exact reason and the company might shed some more light on skipping Neo 4.
