Redmi Note 12 Series To Launch In India Soon

Xiaomi released the Redmi Note 12 Series earlier this year in China. The series consists of four devices- Note 12 5G, Note 12 5G Explorer Edition, Note 12 Pro 5G, and Note 12 Pro + 5G. One thing is clear from the name, all of the devices will support 5G. However, we might be in for a twist as reports suggest Xiaomi might also release a 4G device. What’s more, reports suggest that the company might release the devices pretty soon. However, we are yet to receive an official timeline.  

Additionally, a tipster releases some details about the launch of the Redmi Note 12 Series in India via a tweet. According to him, the series might release in India soon. Anyways, let’s talk about the series in detail. The below sections contain details about the upcoming Xiaomi series.

One of the smartphones from the Note 12 Series gets a 200MP camera

According to a recent leak, Redmi will soon launch the Note 12 series in India. As suggested by the tipster, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ will house a 200MP main camera. The camera department is also the main attraction.

What’s more, we might also get to see an Explorer version. There is one main difference between the Pro+ variant and the explorer variant that we know of as of now. The charging speeds for both smartphones are different. We have mentioned the details about the charging speeds in the next section. 

What’s more, Redmi might also be looking to launch the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ as Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge in India. However, we will have to wait for an official confirmation. 

Besides the models mentioned above, Xiaomi might also release the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G in India. As for the release date, the company might release the smartphones in early 2023 in India.  

Redmi Note 12 Series Specifications and Features

On the processor front, the Redmi Note 12 Series is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor. MediaTek announced the Dimensity 1080 quite recently, so this is the latest SoC from the company. It is based on TSMC’s 6nm process.

On the display front, the smartphones will sport 120Hz OLED Full HD+ display panels. The screen will also house an in-display fingerprint scanner and it will offer 900 nits of peak brightness levels. The display will also feature support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.  

For imaging, the Redmi Note 12 Pro comes with a 50MP primary camera with OIS support, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the other hand, the Note 12 Pro+ comes with a 200MP primary shooter alongside a 2P macro camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. 

On the front, the entire Redmi Note 12 series features a 16MP camera for selfies and video calls. 

Moreover, the devices are powered by a 5,000mAh battery. The Note 12 Pro supports 67W fast charging whereas the Note 12 Pro+ supports 120W fast charging. What’s more, Redmi might also release a Note 12 Explorer with support for 210W fast charging. However, it appears as if this variant is not releasing on a global scale.
