A recent rumor suggested that Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra might feature the highest brightness levels in a smartphone. Now, another rumor has backed it up. In fact, the second rumor indicates that the upcoming Samsung smartphone can beat iPhone 13 series, at least on paper. But there is a twist, it also suggests that Ultra is not the only phone to do so.
EqualLeaks recently shared the results of display testing carried out on Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra by Chinese regulators. The results are identical for both devices, so it is clear that the top-notch display panel won’t be limited to the top-end model. It is worth noting that the model numbers of the tested devices indicate Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 equipped models.

The test results talk about the display size of both the devices to start with. The S22 Ultra is equipped with a 6.8-inch display, whereas the S22 Plus features a 6.55-inch display Now, comes the amazing part, both the phones could achieve 1,750 nits peak brightness levels. This is in line with a previous rumor suggesting 1,750 nits level.
Obviously, this is something exceptional, considering that Galaxy S21 Ultra scored around 850 points last year. What’s more, it is 550 more than iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Moreover, both the display panels managed to cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. It is again an improvement over S21 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro Max. iPhone 13 offers 77% color gamut, whereas S21 Ultra offers 81% color gamut. It all suggests only one thing S22 Plus and Ultra should manage more colorful and accurate-looking images and videos.
Furthermore, both the devices packs LTPO display. Hence, both of them should feature adaptive refresh rate technology.
