Some customers are experiencing difficulties with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, including screen flickering and an unexpected green tint appearance. The users have noticed the issues and brought them to light barely one day after the Pixel 6 series went on sale in the United States. Both new Google Pixel phones feature the company’s Tensor SoC and come preloaded with Android 12. Artificial intelligence (AI)-powered camera improvements are also available on both devices.
The flickering issue occurs when the power button on the Pixel 6 Pro is pressed is noticed by several users on Reddit. Android Police was also aware of the problem, which was on one of its review units. However, because most customer concerns are regarding the Pixel 6 Pro, it’s unclear whether the problem affects the basic Pixel 6 device as well.
One of the impacted users made a little video to demonstrate the issue. Some customers believe the flashing happens because of the static charge that the phone releases when someone presses the power button.
In addition to the flickering issue, some users have noticed a green tint on the display that arrives abruptly.
Due to a glitch, another Twitter user discovered a two-hole punch design on the Pro model. The secondary hole punch cutout, which might be due to some dead pixels in the display. It is visible in a video submitted to the social media site by the user.
It’s unclear if the problems happen due to flawed software or hardware issues, based on all of the documented complaints.
Last week, Google introduced both new phones. They include the Tensor SoC, which the company has made specifically for both phones. The phones also have a fresh design that is dust and water-resistant with IP68 rating.
Following the formal announcement, Google told Gadgets 360 that neither of the new Pixel phones will be available in India.
The Pixel team says the display flickering issue is not a hardware issue and that it will be fixed in the “December software update for Pixel 6 Pro.”
