Yesterday, we have discussed the satellite rumor of Apple’s iPhone 13 series. Famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the upcoming Apple device could have a satellite feature by which the users can call or text without cellular coverage.

But now, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg suggests that this feature could be only for emergency situations. As per the reports, Apple won’t make the upcoming iPhones completely satellite basis at least this year.

As per Bloomberg’s article, Apple is developing two new emergency features based on the satellite system.

The first of these two features will be called Emergency Message via Satellite. This feature could help the users to text and contact using satellite where their phone will be out of coverage. But this will be available only when they are in an emergency situation.

Additionally, Apple will add this feature in the message App as a third protocol along with standard SMS and iMessage. This can help the users in remote areas such as mountains, forests.

However, the text length will be shorter and will be appeared as gray bubbles instead of blue or green. So, the person can easily recognize it as an emergency message.

And lastly, the second Satellite feature could be helpful to report dangerous situations like plane crashes and fires. In this scenario, the mobile will ask the users what kind of trouble they are facing. For example, boat, car, plane or fire problem.

Here, the system will be able to take more specific information such as a ship sinking, a person falling from boats, suffering from traumatic injury, etc. It will also ask whether the person needs any rescue services.
