After Google and Samsung, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro have started to receive the Android 12 in the form of OxygenOS 12 update, making it the third major firm to do so. Samsung’s Galaxy S21 smartphones got the Android 12 upgrade in November, along with the company’s One UI 4 user interface. The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro have officially joined a select group of Android 12 devices. The update adds system-level upgrades and functionality, as well as a few tweaks to the user interface.
According to XDA Developers, users will be able to upgrade to Android 12 through an over-the-air (OTA) update. Although OnePlus has yet to publish a post on its official forums describing all of the new features included in the update, it is already available to customers in India in the form of a 4.04GB upgrade. The update may not appear on the OnePlus 9 or OnePlus 9 Pro right away, since it may be released in phases.
How to Update OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro:
Users who wish to upgrade to OxygenOS 12 straight immediately should back up their data and download the OTA update file for the OnePlus 9 or OnePlus 9 Pro. After you’ve downloaded the package, go to Settings > System > System Updates and select Local Upgrade from the drop-down menu. To install the update, go to the downloaded package.
Users should wait for the company to post the release thread on its forums, as it does with every major upgrade, to see whether any known issues have been reported by users who have already updated.
