Xiaomi confirmed the launch of Redmi 10 Prime in India, which will take place on 3 September. Now, before the launch, the vice president of Xiaomi India, Manu Kuma Jain confirms through a tweet that the device will be powered by the latest MediaTek Helio G88 chipset.

The tech giant launched Redmi 10 globally earlier this month with the same chipset. Now, it looks like Redmi 10 Prime will be a rebranded version of Redmi 10.

Generally, the company launches new smartphones in India with a different chipset. For example, Redmi 9 was launched with an Helio G35 chip. But for the Indian market, it was Helio G80 SoC instead of G35.

The report suggests that the phone will come with the same quad-camera setup as the Redmi 10. Redmi 10 features a 50 MP of primary camera, 8 MP of ultra-wide, 2MP of macro and depth sensors

Talking about the specs, the key features of Redmi 10 Prime could be the same as Redmi 10. Like it could feature a 6.5-inch full-HD+ AdaptiveSync display which will have a 90 Hz of refresh rate. It is speculated that the Redmi Prime would have the same design as Redmi 10.

Furthermore, a Gorilla Glass 3 protects the display of the smartphone. The phone will arrive with 4/6 GB RAM and 64/128 GB storage options.

As per the tweet, the upcoming India device would be a significant upgrade over Redmi 9 Prime and Redmi 9 Power.
