Xiaomi Will Deliver Up To Four Years Of Updates For The Forthcoming Mi 11T series

The new releases from Xiaomi, Mi 11T, and Mi 11T Pro will have an awesome surprise for users. The company announced that the new devices will have over 3 generations of Android OS updates and security patches for 4 years.

The news came from the tech giant on 9th September. Both the phones will be the latest in Xiaomi’s flagship series. The smartphones are scheduled to be released on September 15. Not only for these two new devices; but Xiaomi plans to bring the longer Android and security patch updates for its other smartphones too.

Xiaomi’s head of product and technology, Albert Shan, said “It is not a simple task for Xiaomi and its team to provide system updates and security patches to all of its previous smartphone models. However, the prospect of this challenge and meeting the desires of our customers is exciting.” So it is safe to assume that the extended software support will also be available for other flagship phones at least. We can expect Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra to have the same software support.

Samsung is the only company that provides 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates right now. But soon Xiaomi will also be added to the list along with OnePlus. One plus will follow Xiaomi and provide extended software support only for its flagship smartphones.
