AMD To Include 16-core Zen4 “Raphael-H” chips In Ryzen 7000 Mobile Series

AMD may offer 16-core Zen4 laptop CPUs, according to @NNNiceMing, who has previously offered sensitive information. What’s more, @greymon55 has added to the rumor by speculating that the series could be dubbed Raphael-H; revealing what might happen to the laptop processor series next year.

AMD Raphael is next-generation desktop silicon with Zen4 microarchitecture cores. Although the desktop core count has yet to be confirmed; it looks that we are now discovering how many cores the mobile variant contains. The series will arrive with the Phoenix APU series. The latter is aimed at entry-level to high-end laptop designs.

According to leaked reports, AMD may aim to join the enthusiast mobile category with a chip that is even faster than Phoenix, dubbed the Raphael-H. However, there are a few aspects to ponder before we unpack this claim. One such claim is that Raphael will be the first ‘desktop’ high-end CPU with integrated graphics (RDNA2).

This might AMD’s replies to Intel

Initially, it was seen as AMD’s response to Intel’s Core series, which includes integrated GPUs as standard. But the introduction of integrated GPUs to the 95W+ sector could have a different basis. AMD may aim to repurpose its desktop CPU for mobile devices, providing enthusiast performance in laptops. This could be a direct answer to Intel’s plans for Alder Lake-S mobile, a 16-core processor with a TDP of 45-55W. It was reported last year as a new performance category called Alder Lake-S. (H55).

The notion of AMD employing Raphael chips for mobile devices isn’t entirely new. Gamers Nexus released early details about the next-generation gaming laptop Rapahel series, which has a TDP range of 35 to 65W, almost 1.5 years ago.
