Xiaomi 12 Ultra Could Be the First Phone to Launch With Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1

Xiaomi is gearing up to release the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, at least according to the rumors. Digital Chat Station recently stated that Xiaomi 12 Ultra will soon debut with Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. If this happens, it will make Xiaomi the first company to launch a device with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

However, it is important to note that, we are still not sure about which company will launch Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 featuring device. For instance, Motorola is also working on Edge 30 Ultra which might also feature an SD8+G1 chip. Earlier reports revealed that Edge 30 is the first device to feature SD8+G1.

What’s more, ASUS has also confirmed that it working on a gaming-focused ROG Phone 6 series that will come equipped with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. This device will go on sale on July 5 in Taiwan, China, and the US.

The Xiaomi 12 Ultra should debut before the ROG Phone 6 series if the tipster is to be trusted. Then only it will become the first device to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The tipster further asserted that the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition might also debut shortly after Xiaomi 12 Ultra. This is the same device that was recently seen with full specifications at TENAA. The SD8+G1 flagships from OnePlus, iQOO and Red Magic should also come after these gadgets.

Anyways, it seems as if Xiaomi will reveal the release date for the flagship models in the coming days.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra Rumored Specs

The main hardware that the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra will feature, includes a 6.7-inch AMOLED LTPO QHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, and up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Take the above specifications with a pinch of salt, as the company has not officially confirmed the specs. Moreover, the device will likely include MIUI 13 based on Android 13.

Furthermore, the device might also feature a 4,800mAh battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities. For imaging, it might include a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera. On the front, it has a 20-megapixel front camera will be included.
