Defender Antivirus

Microsoft is planning to tweak the Defender antivirus massively. After the update, users can monitor their Mac, Android, and iOS devices with Microsoft defender.

Obviously, the tweaked app will allow users to keep check of antivirus, phishing, compromised passwords, and other things through the main dashboard.

BleepingComputer got hold of the information because of a new Microsoft Defender Preview on the Microsoft store.

Microsoft Defender is more than just an antivirus

According to BleepingComputer, the upcoming version of Defender will cover a variety of security threats. It does make the tool more than just a mere antivirus.

What’s more, the app will include the ability to add family members to the personal dashboard by sending them invites through emails or QR codes. These invites once sent will install a mobile or desktop agent to enroll the device; that’s usually the case with any application.

Moreover, Ahmed Walid, a Windows software developer, recently patched the tool to bypass authentication. He even shared some more details about the upcoming application.

From what it appears as of now, the app will enable all kinds of alerts including compromised passwords, malware alerts, and identity theft issues.

Release date

Microsoft has not revealed a release date for the new application. However, reports do suggest that it will arrive in Windows 10 and Windows 11 Insider Preview.
