Microsoft Windows 11 Can Be Installed on Unsupported PCs Via ISO Files; they might not get updates

A report from The Verge suggests that Microsoft will now allow devices to run Windows 11 which were deemed incompatible earlier. Specifically, Windows 11 now requires a 64-bit processor with at least a 1GHz clock, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. It won’t be possible to install Windows 11 on devices with less than aforesaid specifications, at least through the windows update tool. You might be able to install Windows 11 on such a device with ISO files.

However, The Verge claims that Windows 11 ISO installations might not even support Window Update altogether. In other words, people using Windows 11 on an unsupported device will not receive both securities and hardware updates.

Updated support list: Intel Core-X added, AMD Zen1 not added

Microsoft has revealed that after investigating the performance of and compatibility of AMD Zen 1 architecture; the company decided not to include it in the list of Windows 11 compatible devices. On the contrary, the company has added support for Core-X and Xeon-W series, but also the Core 7820HQ, used by Surface Studio 2.

Moreover, Microsoft has also formed requirements for a crash-free experience. According to the company, the devices supporting Windows 11 should have a 99.8% crash-free experience.

ASUS rolled out BIOS updates for Intel Kaby Lake and Skylake

In a recent development, ASUS has rolled out new BIOS updates for Intel Z270, H270, and B250 motherboards. To make sure that these models support the current beta of Windows 11. The BIOS update enables TPM on these motherboards. Plus, it is worth noting that Skylake (6th Gen Core) and Kaby Lake (7th Gen Core) don’t officially support Windows 11.
