The Mivi SuperPods Dueto are indeed quite a spectacular set of earbuds. These are perfect for those seeking to articulate their bold idea through aesthetics. This design, which has a gold finish immediately, catches the eye. This is a case that’s fully painted in gold, with a smooth surface and a pair of earbuds that have gold-colored stems will surely lift up.

The striking nature of this design and its beauty can have some pitfalls. For starters, the glossy construction makes the case prone to fingerprints and scratches. In addition, the unit that we had our hands on had a broken link on its lid hinge on one side. We suspect our unit got damaged during transportation. However, it’s noteworthy to mention that the plastic type of manufacturing could be a letdown in the long run.

The case has four battery life LED indicators on the front, so you can see its battery life. On the other hand, the case appears to be quite flimsy, and the build quality could be a practical issue for people who are frequent travelers. Regardless, the magnets that hold the earbuds in the case are powerful and safe, ensuring that the buds do not shift even when moving.

As far as comfort is concerned, the earbuds fit easily inside the ear. The silicone ear tips do a great job of sealing and are comfortable for long listening periods. In addition to the plasticity of the exterior, these earphones are relatively easy and comfortable. The SuperPods Dueto has an IPX4 rating, making them resistant to sweat and minor splashes. Similarly, with Sufjan Stevens’ Carrie & Lowell, the earbuds negotiated the smooth, laid-back tracks effortlessly and we had a more detailed listening experience. However, when increasing the volume beyond a certain level, we observed some distortion that had a negative impact on the overall clarity.

The earphones also support Bluetooth 5.3 and are capable of multi-device connectivity, thus facilitating device switching without any break. So, you can make a call on your mobile and then watch a video on the laptop, and the switching is smooth.

Another highlight of the model is its AI Environmental Noise Cancellation (AI ENC) technology, which allows for clearer communication. While the AI ENC effectively reduces background noise in quieter environments, we found that outdoor calling still allows some ambient noise to seep in. This can be distracting during phone calls.

Companion App & Features

SuperPods Dueto can be controlled and configured with the Mivi Audio companion app. This addition is the cream of the cake in terms of customization. By signing up with their phone number, users gain features like touch control remapping and equalizer customization. They also get additional features like Volume Booster, Gaming Mode, Kids Mode, and Find My Device in the app.

The app’s Gaming Mode is particularly impressive, reducing latency to just 50ms. The earbuds performed well during the game we played (PUBG Mobile), and the multimedia’s audio and video were in perfect sync, thereby ensuring a lag-free experience. Gamers will enjoy the low latency, particularly in competitive games where split-second timing is of prime importance.

On the other hand, one limitation of the companion app is that users must create an account first, which could be annoying for those who are not ready to compromise their personal data.

Mivi Superpods Dueto Battery Life & Charging

The Mivi SuperPods Dueto earbuds are well equipped with a battery life in which they excel. In one go, the earbuds themselves allow eight hours of playback. Well, another 42 hours with the case, making the total playback time 50 hours. Our time mostly covered a mix of music, films, video calls, and gaming, and thus, we extended the use period to 5-7 hours each day. The case finally went completely out of charge after about 8 days of time.

The earbuds’ charging is also pretty fast. It takes about 90 minutes to full charge the gadget with the USB Type-C cable, which is a convenient way of topping up the battery quickly in a hurry. Additionally, a quick 10-minute charge provides up to 500 minutes (around 8 hrs) of playback time.

Mivi has done an extraordinary job of embedding awesome features into the Mivi SuperPods Dueto, which costs Rs 1,999. These include dual drivers, multi-device connectivity, and app-based customization options. The sounds are uniformly good, no matter the kind of music, be it off the shelf or custom. The runtime is awesome, and the gaming mode is designed with the shortest latency possible.

Nevertheless, the SuperPods Dueto has some things that could be better. The construction quality, especially the weak case, could concern someone who wants to be sure about durability. Moreover, while AI ENC does help in calls, it could be better, especially in a noisy setting. The Mivi SuperPods Dueto will be both your music partner and a wallet-friendly choice.
